Western Red Cedar
Western Red Cedar is a good choice for outdoor furniture as the wood is naturally resistant to bugs and insects, mould, decay and bacteria. As the wood is untreated, the surface will patinate over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery grey colour. If you wish to maintain the original amber coloured appearance, treat the wood with an appropriate furniture oil. Be aware that the oil will darken the wood a tad.
