Material & product care
  • Proper usage and maintenance

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.

  • Terracotta

    Tableware
Edge tableware is made of clay and burned at a high temperature. The color shade and surface of the product can vary from time to time, which means that each piece is unique.

    Why
Terracotta is an earthenware formed by high-fired clay. Terracotta means “baked earth” in Italian and the pottery technique can be traced all the way back to ancient Greece.

    Cleaning and maintenance
The product requires a minimum of care. When necessary, clean the product using soapy lukewarm water and wipe with a dry cloth. Be aware that terracotta is fragile so always take care when handling the product.

    Note
This product is not dishwasher safe.

  • Brass

    Why
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, popular for its superb malleability, hardness, corrosion resistance and attractive appearance.

    Cleaning and Maintenance
Brass will tarnish over time, especially if it is not kept dry. Find a suitable brass polish and clean the brass carefully without staining other materials.

    Note
Since brass can be quite susceptible to tarnish, small spots might already have occurred on the product when unpacking. These can easily be polished off.
