Proper usage and maintenance
Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Fibre Wadding
Fibre Wadding is made of carded thin polyester fibres that contain air in between the fibres. The entrapped air creates the ability to insulate and to provide a soft comfort feeling in the cushion.
Maintenance
In order to keep the fibres and cushion full of air, be sure to shake the cushion occasionally.Tärnsjö leather
Why
The Swedish Tärnsjö tannery has more than 140 years of experience in the art and craft of leather. To colour their products, they use a millennium-old method of vegetable tanning which respects the environment and ensures the development of a unique patina over time. The leather used for this cushion is Tärnsjö’s thinnest and softest, and it has kept its natural appearance through aniline colouring where no colour was added in the finishing process. It has a rich and shifting colour texture and genuine leather feel.Maintenance
Leather is a living material, and if exposed to direct sunlight, the colour will darken gradually. Likewise, exposure to hot or dry air for a longer time can dry out the leather if it is not regularly conditioned.Cleaning:
To freshen up the leather once in a while, we suggest this 4-step cleaning method:
1. Use a clean natural sponge or soft cloth to remove any dust.
2. 2 dl soap flakes for leather is mixed with a little water and whipped until it is dissolved.
3. Use the foam from the mix to carefully wash the leather with a firmly wrung cloth.
4. Use a soft dry cloth to dry off the leather surface.
