Certified B Corperation

We are a committed member of the B Corp global community, working together to make business a force for good. B Corps balance profit and purpose by meeting the highest standards for social and environmental performance, accountability and public transparency.

For us, the goal is not to compete to be the best in the world – but to be best FOR the world. We measure our success not by profit alone but also by our social and environmental impact. Therefore, we embrace the idea of a triple bottom line, based on the three Ps: profit, people and planet.

B Corp is a certification system that assesses the overall impact of a company rather than simply evaluating a product or service. The certification is based on a rigorous assessment of a company’s impact on workers, customers, community and environment and its governance, which results in a verified score. The B Impact Assessment comprises 150-plus questions that give a 360-degree view of the company. It is done every three years and is not static.

B Corp aims to set the highest standards for the future so is continually resetting its assessment parameters which means we are continuously striving to do better.

Creating positive impact is an integral part of our business and our decision-making. It can be companywide or incremental. All our staff are encouraged to do their part because we believe no one can do everything but everyone can do something.

We are proud to be a member of B Corp’s community of leaders working together to accelerate a shift in global culture to redefine success for the greater good. In Denmark our active B Corp community supports each other, sharing knowledge and goals. We want to spread the word and inspire other businesses to join the responsible revolution.
Some of the most revered companies in the world are B Corp certified. Brands such as Patagonia, The Body Shop and Ben & Jerry’s are among more than 4000 certified B Corps from 77 countries and 153 industries.

Since joining B Corp in 2017 our eyes have been opened to myriad ways that we can raise our performance. Big or small, they each add up. We launched Reclassic and Rent, two circular initiatives that help to ensure the longevity of our furniture. We raised the share of FSC-certified wood in our production to 90%. Smaller changes include switching to a greener electricity provider, implementing comprehensive waste management and introducing paid volunteer days for our staff. Other developments are in train, led by our commitment to become Net-Zero by 2030.

The B Impact Assessment creates a standardized metric for measuring a company’s performance. To achieve certification a company must score 80 points or more out of a total of 200. In our first assessment in 2017 we scored 87.2. In 2020 our score was a much improved 102.2.
