About Us

We are an international design business, established in 1976 and based in Denmark. We have always focused on designing and producing high quality furniture that ages with grace and lasts for generations. We want to inspire our customers to live well and think long-term.

Our heritage and values are Scandinavian, but our outlook is international. We work from the inside out collaborating with leading designers to create furniture we love ourselves, defined by honest materiality, clear expression, craftsmanship and functionality.
Owned by Jesper and Vibeke Panduro since 2005, our overriding philosophy is that we are in business to give more than we take. It underpins everything we do from sourcing materials to building lasting relationships and dreaming of a better future for us all.

We aim to inspire our customers to live well and think long term, offering ways to buy, sell or rent to accommodate the dynamics of modern life. We also help our customers care for and repair the furniture to ensure it lasts a long time.

We strive to create positive impact and act responsibly in everything we do from how we source materials to how we treat our staff and how our suppliers treat theirs. It is a constant quest that has led us to becoming a signatory to the UN Global Compact since 2010; a certified member of B Corp, a global community making business a force for good, since 2017; and Forest Stewardship Council certified since 2001.
We are always trying to do better – to be the best for the world not in the world.

The name Skagerak refers to our northern location and to the strait ‘Skagerrak’ that connects Denmark with its Nordic neighbors, a strait that has been crucial in developing the region.
While we have always been known as Skagerak internationally, in Denmark we were called Trip Trap for 40 years. It was a brand Danes held dear, knowing it stood for quality and craftsmanship. In 2016 we became Skagerak at home and abroad, upholding those values.
